Your Brother Will Rise.

I understand how tough it can be when it feels like you’re losing someone to the allure of substances or whatever brings temporary happiness. It’s heartbreaking to see how quickly the core values of our faith seem to be set aside these days. Sadly, family life isn’t always treasured as it should be, and marriage can sometimes be viewed as just whatever you make of it. Remember, you’re not alone in these feelings. 

Imagine Martha and Mary grieving the loss of their brother Lazarus—that deep sorrow. Now, picture a similar longing in the hearts of many today, but on a spiritual level. When someone drifts away from their relationship with Jesus, it’s common to lose sight of the true presence of Jesus in His Body and Blood. If we don’t believe in it, worship becomes much harder. That’s often why we see so many people leaving the Mass. It’s a heartfelt reminder of how important faith and belief truly are. 

Jesus lovingly told Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in Me, even if he dies, will live, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” Then he gently asks her a personal question, “Do you believe this?” 

Jesus holds all authority in heaven and on earth, yet He lovingly leaves the choice to each person whether to believe in Him. For instance, Jesus graciously raised Lazarus and returned him to his family. Imagine someone who has drifted away from the Catholic faith in Jesus.  

Gospel Challenge:
You believe in Jesus like Martha. Using Martha’s words, tell Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now, I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.” 

Now listen to Jesus’ response, “Your brother will rise.” Listen to those words whenever you think and pray for someone who no longer believes and practices the Catholic faith. 

“YOUR BROTHER WILL RISE! Repeat it over and over in your heart.
