The more challenging life gets, the better we get, or do we? I had two operations in my second and fourth years of seminary, both in January, each with a three-month recovery. I attended no classes, read no books, wrote no essays, and took no notes. Pain and study don’t mix well. It left me six weeks to prepare for exams. I thought, “I’ll never make it.”
God’s plan was different. My fellow students supported and motivated me, inspiring me to overcome obstacles. Their faith in me and the community’s strength remind us that we are never alone in our struggles.
Perhaps you have a situation that feels impossible, just like Jairus with his daughter or the woman with the hemorrhage who went 12 years without relief. From my experience, faith has the incredible ability to turn what seems impossible into possible. It removes the burden from my shoulders and allows me to trust God completely, surrendering to His will without any reservations.
Gospel Challenge: Our Fr. Founder, Blessed Antonio Rosmini, describes that virtue of trust as “indifference.” This gentle virtue keeps our hearts open, allowing God to guide us in His loving way. Trust is about having unconditional faith expressed through our actions. Think about where you might let go and be indifferent to God, so He can perform His wonderful miracles in your life.
Here I am, Lord. I place my life in Your hands. In this act of surrender, I find peace and comfort, knowing I am in Your loving care.
Love Your Neighbor:
Please join me in praying for all baptized Catholics to be faithful to Jesus in the Holy Mass every weekend. Hail Mary, full of grace…
