Three simple letters form a word that has changed the direction of the world, and that small word from Mary’s lips was “Yes.” Her willingness to trust God’s plan can inspire us to respond with courage and hope when faced with our own calls.
God calls each of us to carry Christ into the world through our actions, words, and hearts in a way that only we can. Though we don’t have an angel speaking to us, God patiently and lovingly keeps urging us to respond to His call, inviting us to trust His plan.
Sometimes, we invent reasons why we believe we cannot achieve something. When what God asks feels overwhelming, remember these words: “Do not be afraid, Mary. You have found favor with God,” or “Do not be afraid, Rick. Do not be afraid. You have found favor with God.” Let these words remind you that God’s support is always near, inspiring courage in your heart.
I assure you: When we genuinely say yes to God, our hearts will overflow with joy, and Jesus will come into the world like never before.
