The Vatican has announced the release of Pope Leo XIV’s first encyclical letter, Magnifica Humanitas (“On the Protection of Human Dignity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”). Released last week March 25th and Signed on the 135th anniversary of Pope Leo XIII’s foundational social encyclical Rerum Novarum, this new teaching acts as a modern-day companion for our digital industrial revolution. Pope Leo calls us to remember that technology must always serve human beings rather than replace them, urging us to protect human relationships and independent thought.
