When I notice a piece of litter on the ground, do I pick it up or walk past? It is a minor detail in the larger context. But what about money? During these difficult times, inflation diminishes our purchasing power, making money more meaningful for most people.
Guess what? To our Father God, litter and paying bills are small compared to our relationship with Him. Being faithful to Jesus in small things, like not walking over litter, helps me trust Him with bigger, uncontrollable issues.
I don’t know what my state of mind would be without prayer. Daily with Jesus helps me stay grounded. Reflecting on 8 years as your pastor, I see how much was beyond my control, especially the repairs we’ve overcome thanks to your generosity. I am so grateful.
I quickly learned who the Lord is and whose parish this is – our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The more I abandoned myself and the parish in the care of Jesus, Our Heavenly Father, who provided for every need, through you. Someone always came forward with a solution I could never come up with.
Gospel Challenge: Think of something out of control in your life that you can’t handle on your own. Before bringing it to the Lord, ask Him to take care of something smaller, like a meeting with someone or an event you have planned. See how everything changes when Jesus is Lord, and we are glad to serve Him.
