Anyone who has undergone a shoulder or knee replacement understands that it doesn’t occur instantly. Often, doctors explore other surgeries and therapies first, followed by months of recovery; it may take up to six months to a year to fully heal. Imagine how wonderful it would be if asking could take away pain. Living in the Spirit is just like that—it’s about surrendering everything and patiently trusting that God will guide us to what comes next. It’s a journey of faith and hope, full of trust in His loving plan. Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit from His Father. We receive the Holy Spirit during the Sacrament of Confirmation and might think, “That’s it.” However, in reality, Jesus continuously sends the Holy Spirit—our Advocate—moment by moment, instantly, in every situation we face during the day. His presence is always immediate, providing reassurance with each step we take. God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit do this because they want us to never be without them. Like any parent, our Father will shield us from harm. No cross will be too heavy to carry, and no task will be too difficult to perform with our Advocate by our side. He is almighty! Gospel Challenge: Pray, “Come, Holy Spirit,” in any situation. At that moment, the world moved out of your heart, and Jesus fills you with God’s pure fullness, bringing a deep sense of His presence and love that surpasses all understanding. What challenges are you experiencing right now that might seem impossible for you, but are not for Jesus? Keep praying heartfelt prayers, saying, “Come, Holy Spirit.” Trust that God, in His Providence, will bless you with His very best. Remember, asking for the Holy Spirit’s guidance is easy, yet it fills us with God’s strength and wisdom. It’s truly that simple. Love Your Neighbor! Fr.
