Imagine you get a base hit and are on first. You take a lead, thinking about stealing second, but now isn’t the time for daydreams. Focus fully on the pitcher and his moves. You’ve studied him, knowing all his motions. Your timing must be perfect; any mistake could get you thrown out at first when trying to get back.
Staying awake is crucial for achieving your goal. Focus on what you’ll do today, hope for the best, and see what happens. Sometimes, luck is on your side, and things go as planned. But what if they don’t?
Life can be frustrating, but Jesus provides a solution: “Stay awake.” He knows the best way to help us and others. Following His guidance brings His goodness into every situation where we seek Him. “My ways are not your ways” (Isaiah 55:9). His direction offers peace, knowing He is always present with us.
His Way benefits us in this life and the next. He can see into the future and knows how every choice will turn out. Even difficult times can help us grow and bring Christ’s presence into the world. Embrace challenges as growth opportunities.
Gospel Challenge: There is no worry when we follow Jesus. Ask Him to be with you and remember His Presence in everything you do. In His presence, we find peace, knowing He is guiding us. You will steal second base every time.
