We have all kinds of treasures. My treasure was catching big fish and a lot of them when fishing with my dad. Then, when my mom was preparing those fish for dinner, my treasure was to jump right in and gobble them up. Another treasure was having a great win when I went to a Rays baseball game or a Buccaneers football game.
Every day we have all kinds of treasures. I would call these little treasures. But, unlike the Treasure of a relationship with Jesus, I wouldn’t sell everything I have to catch fish or win a ballgame. However, if I am not vigilant, a treasure or two may take the place of Jesus in my heart.
I always find it helpful to recall the presence of the Lord when I begin to do something. When Jesus is with me, it’s much easier to be in balance and not get too excited or too down. A peaceful mind and heart produce clarity to see and experience things abundantly.
It doesn’t take much to make Jesus your treasure in whatever you do—consciously try it throughout the day. Take notice; you will enjoy life so much more.
