I imagine all of us have received a phone call when we were in a noisy room or a meeting. We had to get up. And leave the room, after excusing ourselves to find a quiet place for our conversation. So, we have to leave the noise in our heads and in our hearts to be with Jesus.
How many times have I been on a golf course, or maybe you have been fishing, and here comes a thunderstorm? We take cover immediately, so we won’t get struck by lightning, not to mention the rain and wind.
Life storms can be overwhelming, like Peter and the disciples experienced on the boat. As crazy as it sounds, if I don’t get out of the boat and walk on the water with Jesus, I would sink in those troubling waters.
It may just be that Jesus allows those storms to happen so we can’t help but call on him and be with him – I mean really with Him.
When Peter walked on water, only his faith in Jesus kept him from sinking—nothing else could. Like Peter, the waves and wind in life’s struggles don’t matter to Jesus or to us when we share those struggles with Jesus. We cry out, “Lord, save me.” He will.
Even if we are overcome by fear and start sinking, Jesus will take our hand and bear those struggling moments for us. Like any good friend, talk with Jesus about everything you are experiencing. Without words, let Him hear what your heart is saying.
My friends, go to your heart and face those fears and struggles with the courage of Jesus. We are never alone. Not for a moment.
