“I LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER.”
The A-Team’s television show was a mixture of drama and comedy in the early 1980s. George Peppard played the character Col. John Hannibal Smith. It didn’t matter how many odds were against the A-Team; they somehow managed to save the day. Hannibal came out with the line at the end of every show, “I love it when a plan comes together.”
I can see God saying that with us, at least when we have a little patience and work with his plan. It’s easy to get upset and angry when something doesn’t work out. However, most likely, the root of the problem is that we’re working against God. Yes, He has a perfect plan for us, especially when the odds are against us.
The odds were against Elizabeth and Zechariah having children. It was thought to be a curse in those days for a woman to be barren. Timing is everything. For God’s plan to come together, certain things have to happen. John the Baptist could not be born before Jesus. His vocation was to prepare the way of Jesus.
What odds are working against you right now? Does something seem impossible? Are you giving up? Please wait for God’s timing. I promise you will love it when his plan comes together for you. St. John, the Baptist, pray for us.
