“Following is a meditation I do everyday to help me stay in God’s Presence throughout the day.”
A LITTLE GLORY GOES A LONG WAY
Imagine a pinpoint of Light in the middle of your chest. It is warm and has a glow to it that is inviting. As an observer, you watch it begin to expand, filling your chest cavity and spreading in every direction through your entire body. The warm, glowing Light fills the room you are in and extends to everyone you encounter throughout the day. This Light is Jesus, the Light of the world, and you are also His Light to the world.
This Light is like the blue sky. No matter how many clouds and storms seem to block its view, it is always there. If something upsetting happens, a thought, a temptation, an unkind word from someone, think of a feather falling from the cloud into that Light in the middle of your chest and absorbing it. Watch the Light absorb, swallow up the unpleasant thought or experience and leave you in peace.
While Jesus was praying on the mountain, Peter, James, and John were woken by a warm, inviting Light, Jesus. They fell to their knees in worship. So, I invite you to take a few minutes every day and go up that mountain to be with Jesus in glory with Moses and Elijah. When you come down the mountain, everything changes. A little glory in the morning goes a long way.
