Father Rick’s Gospel Reflection for Friday, 33rd Week in Ordinary Time, November 18, 2022
Luke 19:45-48 https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/111822.cfm

Please take a moment to read and pray over the gospel.

A House of Prayer.

A house of prayer is a sacred place of communing with the Lord. Every time I enter this holy place, I must remind myself, “This is Jesus in the Tabernacle.”

Have you ever thought about how powerful the Blessed Sacrament is in the Tabernacle? Sometimes we hear, “Whatever people gained while in church, they lost it all in the parking lot when Mass was over.”

We would indeed be so ashamed to think, say or do some things in front of Jesus in the Tabernacle that we do outside the church.

Why not realize that He stays with us when we receive Him in Holy Communion? And just as valid, others bear Christ in their souls, so they deserve even greater respect from us. Is there any difference in our behavior outside of the church and the buying and selling that was happening in the temple when Jesus cleansed it?

The Gospel Challenge:

As the Lord Jesus enters our temple, our soul, let us ask him to cleanse us and keep us pleasing to him all through the day, as we are in His Presence in the Blessed Sacrament in the Tabernacle. To the world, we are his Tabernacle.

IGNITE THE FIRE.

God bless you, my friends.
