The thought comes to me now and then, “What would my life be like, and what would I be like if I wasn’t Catholic? So I imagine it comes to mind so I will appreciate the faith God planted in my heart and soul during my Baptism. I thank God for my Mom and Dad, who were faithful to their faith. I remember Dad putting a suit on and going to Mass on Sunday. Back then, Mom would wear her little white veil over her head and say the Rosary.
Today’s gospel tells us that children were brought to Jesus, and he laid hands on them and prayed. Praise God that Mom and Dad brought me to Jesus. If they hadn’t practiced their faith, Jesus most likely would not have put His hands on my head through the bishop and ordained me to be His priest. Of all the things Mom and Dad did for me, I am most grateful for the faith they handed on to me as their parents handed to them. Who or what would I be like without that faith today? It is the only thing that will help me get to heaven to be with them forever.
For what are you most grateful in your life? For what are your children most grateful that you are giving them? Is there anything you would like to change in your behavior and practice? Share that with Jesus
and wait for Him to speak to you. Something will keep coming back to you.
