I know someone who recently went to the doctor for pains in his chest and a lack of energy. He discovered that the main artery in the upper chamber of his heart was blocked. The discovery was very negative and soon became a positive, saving his life from a massive heart. The first few days after surgery were painful for him but necessary.
My father, George, died from a massive heart attack, even after he’d been meditating for 20 years. So I got on the scale, and a new diet was necessary. My friend’s discovery made me seriously look at my health and change my eating habits. I am grateful to my friend and his new lease on life. The diet is working under the direction of a doctor.
Like my friend’s warning, Jesus tells us that now is the time to change our sinful behaviors to virtuous ones. We think we can do it later, but like a heart attack, we never know when that day will be when we run out of opportunities to change.
Remember, Jesus sees all the consequences of our choices. Now is the time to seriously consider what Jesus knows is good and bad for us and our eternal salvation. Please take a moment and watch Jesus throw his net over your life. What would He throw out today? What would He keep in His bucket (heaven)? Ask Jesus to throw out the evil with you. Then, use his power to make those changes that will benefit you and many other people even today. You will be amazed at how much better your day will be.
