Crying out!

Every day the blind man in the gospel had his hand out. Begging was his only way of getting food. Imagine how many times he begged the same people. Now Rabbis taught people while they walked from one town to another.

So, when the blind man heard a crowd coming, he knew it would be people who wouldn’t recognize his face. He discovered it was Jesus, so he tried to shout above the crowd, but it didn’t work. Next, he gave an animal cry with such an ungovernable emotion from deep within himself, it probably even scared him to death.

When he only mouthed the words, Jesus paid no attention. It was the volume of his heart that Jesus heard the second time he cried out. That is where faith is born and grows. Gospel Challenge:

When we ask Jesus to do something, whatever it is, enter that need with all your heart. If someone is ill, bear that illness in your prayer. If it’s a broken relationship, bear that sorrow in your prayer. Jesus is present in your cry for help and will respond.
