Fulfilling a daydream.

Luke 13:1-9
Would you mind opening your Scriptures and reading these verses prayerfully?

We all have daydreams. Sometimes we see them as distractions to what we are doing. Something sparks a thought, and off we go into our dreamland. Hold on. Maybe some daydreams are more than a distraction. Consider a daydream as a little voice inside your heart. Does it keep coming back, even for days? That daydream may be the voice of God. “And it shall be in the last days, God says, that I will pour out my Spirit on all mankind; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will have dreams.” (Act 2:17) How interesting! To dream with God. Amazing.

Bartimaeus, the blind beggar in today’s gospel, had a dream. He didn’t want to have to beg all his life. He wanted something more, something better than holding his hand out day in and day out. That something came along when he heard Jesus was coming down the road. His dream to see was more than a passing thought, a distraction. It was something from deep inside him. The Holy Spirit put that dream in his heart?

The Gospel Challenge:

What is your dream? Is it something you hear often? It might be gone for a while, but it keeps coming back. What or who is in your dream? Bartimaeus wanted to see. He kept that dream alive. And because he kept it alive, he recognized the Voice of Jesus, not with his ears but in his heart. Listen to that Voice inside and from there, cry out with Bartimaeus, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me.

IGNITE THE FIRE.
God bless you, my friends.
